How We Structure Daily Life at Our Daycare
Living and Learning in Our Daycare
Every day at our daycare is filled with small adventures, shared discoveries, and precious moments. At the heart of it all are the children, with their individual personalities, ideas, and needs.
Whether it’s free play, creative activities, shared meals, outdoor romping, or exciting projects – our daily life thrives on community, curiosity, and the joy of learning. We create a loving space where children feel safe, can experiment, and grow playfully.
Our Daily Schedule
Structure Provides Security
Our daycare’s daily schedule provides structure and thus security. For this, it is important that all children are in their group by 9:00 AM at the latest. This allows the day to begin calmly.
Fresh Air as a Fixed Ritual
Time outdoors is an important part of our day, every day and in all weather. Almost daily, we take the children to the nearby forest, where they can discover nature in all its facets.
Balance Between Activity and Rest
Our daily rhythm consists of active phases alternating with quiet times, to provide children with the necessary balance and thus a relaxed, well-rounded day.
Mindful Throughout the Day
The many small transitions in the daily routine – such as the change from home to daycare, from breakfast to free play, or changing clothes after playing outside – can sometimes be challenging for children. For this reason, we design these transitions with particular care to give children orientation and relaxation.
Creative and Artistic Activities
Creative work and artistic expression are an integral part of daily life in our daycare. In a stimulating environment, children can paint, draw, create, and experiment with various materials. This not only fosters their own means of expression but also provides initial insights into the world of art – by getting to know important artists and their works. This creates a playful, initial approach to the broad field of art and its diverse forms of expression.
Forest Visits and Nature Education
Regular Excursions to the Mooswald Forest
Nature is a unique learning and experience space for children – and we regularly utilize this within the framework of our forest visits. Several times a week, our groups head to the nearby Mooswald forest to discover nature with all their senses. The forest offers countless opportunities for research, play, wonder, and finding peace. Whether balancing on tree trunks, collecting natural materials, or observing animals and plants – each child experiences nature in their own unique way.
Nature Education Fosters:
Our nature education programs promote:
- motor development
- sensory perception
- ecological understanding
- independence and mindfulness in dealing with the environment
Experience Instead of Performance
The focus is not on performance, but on experiencing and discovering nature.
Children learn to grasp natural connections, develop a sense of sustainability, and experience the seasons firsthand.
Integral Part of Our Concept
Forest visits are an important part of our pedagogical concept – and a valuable balance to indoor activities.
Healthy Nutrition in Daycare Life
Meals are an important part of our daycare routine – not only as a time for nourishment but also as social and pedagogical moments. This way, we ensure that children are physically strengthened, content, and able to concentrate throughout the day. At the same time, we place great importance on a relaxed eating atmosphere that promotes table manners, independence, and the joy of eating.
Culture, Home & World Knowledge
Children discover their surroundings – from the Minster to the tram – and develop orientation and a sense of belonging. Train excursions to the Black Forest also enable shared experiences outside the city.
Theater & Concerts
Cultural experiences stimulate imagination and broaden horizons. Through discussions about what they’ve experienced, we strengthen language, expressiveness, and new perspectives. That’s why we visit SWR children’s concerts or go to the theater.
City Library
At the city library, children learn how to handle books and understand the lending system. Books promote language, listening, storytelling, and the joy of reading – an important foundation for lifelong learning.
Museum Visits
Museums offer children learning and inspiring experiences. At the natural history museum, they discover flora and fauna and beautiful gemstones. Children also learn about art and famous painters, which promotes perception and creativity.
