Our understanding of education, care, and development
Our Educational Philosophy
Our educational work is based on the Orientation Plan for Education and Care in Baden-Württembergian Daycare Centers.
Every Child is Unique
Children are naturally curious, eager to learn, and full of a spirit of discovery. From the very beginning, they bring their own abilities, interests, and unique developmental potential.
We are convinced: children learn from within themselves – if they grow up in an environment that offers them trust, security, and stimulating impulses.
Educational Philosophy
Our task as an educational team is to create the conditions for these aptitudes to unfold – through:
- loving guidance,
- thoughtfully designed spaces,
- stimulating interaction,
- as well as diverse learning and experience opportunities.
In doing so, we perceive each child in their uniqueness and support them individually – with patience, appreciation, and professional competence.
Educational Partnership with Parents
Parents entrust us with their child, the most precious thing. This trust is both a gift and a responsibility for us. We see ourselves as reliable educational partners by their side. In close exchange, we work together to unleash each child’s potential – gently, holistically, and on an equal footing.
Educational Quality and Professional Expertise
Daily Individual and Small Group Support
In our daycare, we place great importance on holistic, needs-oriented support for children. Each child brings their own strengths, interests, and developmental themes – we address these individually and specifically.
Our educational specialists offer daily:
Language as a Key to the World
Bilingual Education from the Start – German and English in Everyday Life
Our facility operates bilingually: German and English accompany children’s daily lives from the very beginning. This concept optimally prepares children for an increasingly global world.
Playful Learning under three years old
Children under three years old experience both languages naturally and playfully.
They learn German and English parallel to language acquisition – through singing, playing, listening, and imitating.
Studies show that early bilingual language acquisition has a particularly positive influence on cognitive development.
Conscious Language Learning from three years old
From the age of three, children also approach languages consciously – through targeted conversations, songs, stories, and cultural content.
This not only expands their vocabulary but also develops a feel for language structures, expression, and cultural differences.
Language Connects – Diversity Strengthens
Our bilingual orientation not only promotes language proficiency but also cultural openness, tolerance, and an understanding of diversity.
Thus, children grow into open-minded, self-confident individuals who experience language as a bridge to other people and cultures.
Settling-in Period
Well-supported from the start
The settling-in period at the daycare center is an important phase in which the child is gently and gradually introduced to the new environment, the caregivers, and the group routine. It lays the foundation for a trusting relationship between the child, parents, and educational specialists. If the start of daycare coincides with a parent’s return to work, it is more relaxed for everyone involved to plan sufficient time for the settling-in period in advance.
Before the start of daycare, we invite families to a personal initial consultation. During this meeting, we discuss the settling-in process together and take time for all parents’ questions and concerns.
Our educational specialists always have an open ear – for the needs of the children as well as those of the parents. This conversation offers the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your wishes or concerns.
Special Enrichment Programs
On certain afternoons, we also offer special educational programs, which are led by external specialists. This provides children with valuable experiences that are fun and specifically promote their development.
Early Music Education
In cooperation with the Jazz- und Rockschule Freiburg, early music education takes place on fixed afternoons.
The music educator – a qualified specialist in elementary music pedagogy – playfully introduces children to music, movement, and rhythm.
Swimming Courses in Summer
During the summer months, we offer swimming courses with a qualified swimming instructor.
Children get to know the element of water, gain confidence in dealing with it, and can even earn the ‘Seepferdchen’ badge (seahorse badge, a German swimming proficiency award).
Fees and Support for Parents
A parent fee applies for early music education and swimming courses, as these programs are organized in cooperation with external specialists. We know that many working parents would like to enable their children to have these valuable experiences but cannot organize them themselves due to time constraints. Therefore, we integrate these programs directly into the daycare routine in the afternoon – as a family-friendly solution that supports children and eases the burden on parents.
Strong Together for School Readiness
Preparation for school begins as soon as children enter kindergarten.
From the age of four, the initial school entry health check by the Freiburg Health Department takes place.
Preparation in the Last Kindergarten Year
In the last kindergarten year, children are specifically prepared for the transition to school in many areas. This transition phase is particularly important so that children learn to adapt to new challenges, structures, and routines of school life. We foster curiosity, independence, and the joy of learning – as a foundation for a successful start to school.
Cooperation with the Freie Christliche Schule Freiburg
Our cooperation school is the Freie Christliche Schule in Freiburg.
Through close cooperation, we can make the transition to school particularly trusting and continuous.
